An all black Shih Tzu with no white at all is the rarest color there is. Typically a black Shih Tzu will fade to a gray or silver color over the time. I have been fortunate to have 2 generations of black Shih Tzu girls who both produce Non-Fading Black puppies who stay jet black.

A Black Shih Tzu has a black nose, black eye rims, black lips, and black paw pads. Their coat is also black.

If a Shih Tzu has a black nose, eye rims, lips and paw pads, but has a different coat color, their color is determined by the coat color.
